In this section I return to the issue of coherent states which have been mentioned merely in passing in section A.2. After a brief account of GLAUBER's theory of coherent states [Gla63a,Gla63b,Gla63c,Gla65,Gla66] I discuss an important generalization and its application in the theory of quantum phase space distribution functions.
